⚠ California EDD New Hire Reporting (DE 34)
California law requires employers to report all newly hired employees to the EDD within 20 days of their start-of-work date (first day of work). Rehired employees (after 60+ days of separation) must also be reported.

How to file: Submit Form DE 34 via EDD e-Services for Business or fax to 916-319-4400.
Required info: Employee name, SSN, address, start date, and employer's EDD account number & FEIN.
Penalty: $24 per unreported employee; $490 if intentional.
